Welcome to FanArtFrenzy!
This is a group for the fan artist to showcase his/her talents.
FAN ART being defined as- "artwork that is based on a character, costume, item, or story that was created by someone other than the artist. The term, while it can apply to art done by fans of characters from books, is usually used to refer to art derived from visual media such as comics, movies or video games. In addition to traditional paintings and drawings, fan artists may also create web-based animations, posters, and artistic representation of movie/show/book quotes."
"Usually, it refers to fan labor artworks by amateur artists, or artists who are unpaid for their fan creations--so that, for example, professional comic adaptations of the Star Wars films would not be considered fan art while a version done by an unaffiliated fan would be. The distinctions here cannot always be distinctly drawn and the actual status of particular works can often fall into a gray area."
...the "break down"-
This group is for your best COMPLETE/FINISHED submissions that relate to the following 3 categories:
1. Comic book/graphic novel artwork
2. Movie/Television CHARACTERS
3. Literary CHARACTERS
-COMIC BOOKS & GRAPHIC NOVELS
Self-explanatory. Characters from your favorite comics or graphic novels. Covers, "splash" pages, & pin-ups.
Please DO NOT submit sequential art or characters of your own creation.
Please DO NOT submit sketches or unfinished artwork. Just your proudest.
-MOVIE & TELEVISION CHARACTERS
Emphasis on "characters". This is a folder for your best submissions which relate to your favorite characters, NOT ACTORS. Don't submit a drawing of Johnny Depp as Johnny Depp , submit one of Johnny Depp as Capt. JACK SPARROW...or the Mad Hatter...Ed Wood, etc. Fan art in this folder is for CHARACTERS.
-LITERARY CHARACTERS
Characters as interpreted by YOU. Example: If you draw a picture of Gandalf from Lord of the RINGS, DON'T draw Ian McKellen as Gandalf, draw Gandalf as YOU see him in your mind. This folder is for your best literary character interpretations.
Now....as I am new to this whole process, I ask that you please be patient with me as I figure out all the "hows" involved with running a group.
I'm learning "on the fly".
Any advice or suggestions are absolutely welcome.
Thanks for your time and I hope to see you as a member!
